how come they go for so much? i just got one from getting 4 charr hides. what are fur squares used to craft/do?

You need them for certain armors. Before the last patch they were extremely hard to come by as you could only get them by using an expert salvage kit and then you might get 1 out of every 12 charr hides if you were lucky. Now that there is a person who will craft them for you the price should come down and stabilize.

There is an NPC collector in Old Ascalon named Sedgewick that will take a trade of four hides for 1, so you don't have to pray that 12 and an expert salvage kit gets you one.
